ModVal13 is the 13th annual event of an international symposium on Modeling and Experimental Validation on fuel cells and batteries. It was initiated in 2004 by the Swiss Federal Energy Office. Taking place every year late March, it alternates the venue between Switzerland and Germany, and is hosted by a local academic institution.

The goal of the venue is to present advances in modeling on fuel cells (mainly SOFC and PEFC) and batteries, as well as experimental work for model validation. Electrolysis is also included, due to recent strong interest and activity in this topic. Attendance is around 100 to 150 participants, from both academia and industry, in earlier years mainly from Switzerland and Germany, but lately increasingly from all over Europe and including from overseas.
